Housekeeping Cabins

Lake Wappapello State Park offers two- and three-bedroom housekeeping cabins. Cabin season extended!  The cabins will re-open for the 2008 season on Feb. 29. Check in is at 3 p.m. with check out by 11 a.m.

Cabin 8 in Lake Wappapello State Park.Infants and children count as occupants. Pets are not allowed in the cabins. Tents or other alternate lodging accommodations are not allowed in the rental area. There are no telephones in the cabins. Clean up and trash removal is the responsibility of the lodging guest and should be completed before check out.

Two-bedroom cabin amenities include:  bathroom; kitchenette with sink, refrigerator, electric cooktop and oven, pots and pans, coffeemaker, toaster, microwave and seating for six; television/DVD player combo (bring your own DVDs); heating and cooling; bed and bath linens; picnic table and outdoor fire ring with grill.

The two-bedroom cabins (Units 1-7) are approximately 1.7 miles from the park office and can sleep a maximum of six people. The 2008 rate for these cabins is $90 per night.

Three-bedroom cabin amenities include:  one full and one half bathroom; kitchen with sink, refrigerator, electric cooktop and oven, pots and pans, coffeemaker, toaster, microwave and seating for 10; television/DVD player combo (bring your own DVDs); heating and cooling; bed and bath linens; picnic table and outdoor fire ring with grill.

The three-bedroom cabin (Unit 8) is approximately one mile from the park office and can sleep a maximum of 10 people. The 2008 rate for this cabin is $120 per night.

Camper Cabins

Exterior of a camper cabin in Lake Wappapello State Park.Nestled in the heavily forested hills of Southeastern Missouri, Lake Wappapello State Park has been a favorite recreation area for many years. There is now a new reason to stay at this scenic park -- camper cabins.  The camper cabins are open year-round.

Bordering Wappapello Lake, the park offers excellent boating, fishing and swimming opportunities that make guests want to spend more than one day. Those that don't want a rustic camping experience now have a new lodging option in camper cabins - comfort camping in style! The wooded setting and lake views provide the perfect get away for a quiet weekend or a week-long vacation.

Four camper cabins are located in the park's Ridge Campground. The log cabins provide accommodations for up to four adults and Interior of a camper cabin in Lake Wappapello State Park.two children. These accommodations include a queen size bed, a full size futon and a carpeted loft for sleeping bags.

The camper cabins have electricity, heating and air conditioning but do not include water or restrooms. Each cabin has a dining table, ceiling fan, compact refrigerator and microwave/toaster oven. Exterior amenities include a porch bench, picnic table, pedestal grill and campfire grill. Parking is designated for each unit and can accommodate two vehicles and a boat trailer. Drinking water is located nearby. A modern central restroom and showerhouse, located within walking distance of the cabins, is available during the camping on season (April 1 to Oct. 31). During the camping off season, a vault toilet is available and water is available at frost free hydrants located in the campground near the camper cabins.

Camper cabin bedroom.To prepare for your experience, bring your camping gear such as lanterns, cooking and eating utensils, and water containers. Guests must bring their own linens and sleeping bags. Open flame cooking is not allowed in the cabins or on the cabin porches. Cooking with griddles, crock-pots and other non-flame cooking devices is allowed. Pets and smoking are not allowed inside the cabins. Clean up and trash removal is the responsibility of the lodging guest and should be completed before check out.

The camper cabins are available for rent year-round. The 2008 rate for the cabins is $50 plus tax for one to six occupants (four adults and two children). Full payment for your stay will be due at the time you make the reservation. Single-night reservations are not accepted.
