Do you want to explore all of Crowder's trails but have no one to walk with? Are you curious about what plants and animals can be found along the trails at Crowder? If so, join park staff as we explore every mile of trail at Crowder State Park this spring!
Visitors are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather.
Hike Schedule:
Saturday, April 1, at 10 a.m. – Redbud Trail
Meet at the tennis court parking lot for a 2-mile hike on this loop trail that crosses dry (most of the time) creek beds and passes by rock bluffs amid climbing hills.
Sunday, April 2, at 5 p.m. – Redbud Trail
Meet park staff at the campground amphitheater parking lot for a 1-mile hike that will allow you to explore Connector 1 and the western side of Redbud Trail.
Saturday, April 8, at 10 a.m. – River Forks Trail
Meet park staff at the lake parking lot for a 2-mile hike on this loop trail that is sure to get your blood flowing. We will look for bald eagles at the fork of the Weldon and Thompson rivers.
Saturday, April 15, at 10 a.m. – North Thompson Trail
Meet park staff at the equestrian parking lot for a hike on this 4.5-mile loop that passes by the Thompson Cemetery, the Thompson House and the Thompson River and goes out to Leatherwood Hollow!
Sunday, April 16, at 5 p.m. – Tall Oaks Trail
Meet park staff at the campground amphitheater for this 4.2-mile hike on our most diverse trail. This trail allows visitors to go through old fields and upland and bottomland forest, and along the shore of Crowder Lake.
Saturday, April 22, at 10 a.m. – South Thompson Trail
Meet park staff at the Shelter 3 parking lot for this 6.5-mile hike on a portion of Tall Oaks Trail, connectors 2 and 3, and a portion of South Thompson Trail.
Saturday, April 29, at 10 a.m. – Tall Oaks Trail
Meet park staff at the Lake parking lot for this 3.6-mile hike.
Sunday, April 30, at 5 p.m. – South Thompson Trail
Meet park staff at the equestrian parking lot for this 3.6-mile hike out to South Thompson Trail.
