1 Night, 5 Planets and 6 Moons

5/23/2015 | Knob Noster State Park | Knob Noster, MO

That's right, join us under the stars and we should be able to show you all of that and much more. Stay late and we may be able to see Saturn during its closest approach to Earth in 2015. The program will start with a short lesson on the night sky and how to use star charts. Then, as the skies darken, telescopes will be used to point out spectacular sky sights.

Plan on bringing something to sit on. A flashlight and insect repellent are recommended. In case of rain or cloudy skies, this event will be moved to Sunday, May 24. Please check the park’s Facebook site to make sure the program is being held.

The event will be held in the special-use area and is free to everyone; you do not have to camp to attend the program. Please park in the WPA picnic area lot and hike the short distance to the program. Follow the signs from the park visitor center to the event.

Event time: 8:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
