at Watkins Mill State Park

a playground rules signPets must be kept on a leash no more than 10 feet long, and under personal control at all times. Pets are not allowed in the swimming beach area, inside any buildings, including the visitor center, or on the grounds of the historic site.

Alcohol is not permitted in parking lots or on the beach.

Hours: The trails are open from 7 a.m. to sunset. Day-use areas are open from 6:30 a.m. to sunset from April through October and 7 a.m. to sunset from November through March. The campground gate closes at 10 p.m. during the on-season and 8 p.m. from November through March. Fires may be built in campsite fire pits or picnic grills only and should be supervised at all times.

Plants, including trees, bushes, flowers, leaves or any other plant parts may not be cut down, picked or damaged in any other way.

Animals or wildlife of any kind are not to be harassed, injured or killed.

Fishing may be done anywhere on the lake except the swimming beach area. Night fishermen with current permits may fish at the dam or the boat launch area.

Horses may be ridden on the designated equestrian trail only.

Bicycles, including mountain bikes, may be ridden on Paved Bicycle Lake Trail and on public roads leading to the bicycle trail, but not off the trail or on the horse trail. Bicycles ridden on public roads must comply with all road regulations.
