Join costumed interpreters at Watkins Mill State Park as they demonstrate rural life of the 1870s. See displays of blacksmithing and woodstove cooking, and try your hand at rag doll making, rope making and old-time games. Other activities may include corn shelling, crosscut sawing, cider pressing and Victorian era gardening. All activities will take place outdoors, so be sure to dress for the weather.
Admission to the event is free and does not require registration. Guided tours of the antebellum Watkins home and the historic woolen mill will be available for a small fee. Tour cost is $5 for adults and $4 for ages 6-17; kids 5 and under are free.
