The public is invited to come out to Annie and Abel Van Meter State Park on Oct. 23 for the park's first "Spooking up the Park" event.
Visitors can have a spooktactular time making themed crafts to take home, participating in a costume contest, going on a "Haunted Hike," judging a campsite decorating contest, and doing some trick-or-treating. They will also have an opportunity to experience the park after dark and share some stories around the campfire.
Event Schedule:
- 2-3 p.m. – Themed crafts.
- 3-4 p.m. – Costume contest.
- 4-5 p.m. – Campsite decorating contest judging.
- 5-7 p.m. – Haunted hike and trick-or-treating.
- 7-10 p.m. – Campfire stories.
