The Sunbonnet Garden Club invites children in grades first through fifth to participate in its annual Smokey Bear & Woodsy Owl 2022 Poster Contest. From Oct. 13-31, the Bennett Spring nature center will have an area available for participants to utilize supplies and turn in a poster. Each entry should be 11 by 17 inches. The official rules and submission requirements can be found at the link below and will be posted at the nature center.
Woodsy Owl is a conservation icon whose message to “Lend a Hand, Care for the Land!” The park would like to support the community’s efforts in recycling, reusing, and reducing waste. Using resources wisely and not littering is appreciated at Bennett Spring State Park.
Certificates will be awarded to each poster dropped off for contest entry. There will be prize money awarded by the Federation Garden Club for the four national winners, and the national grand prize winner will get a trip to Washington, D.C.
