Making Memory Turkey Calls

3/27/2021 | Current River State Park | Salem, MO

For thousands of years, humans have been making animal calls as a way to hunt. There is a wide range of calls, call uses and ways in which calls are made. Everything from your mouth to your phone can be used as a call. Join park staff at Current River State Park on March 27 to learn how to make a "Missouri Memory Turkey Call." During this class, participants will build a pot call that will have a "memory - photo" – which they will bring with them – inlayed under glass.

This call will be made just in time to be used for Missouri’s spring turkey season. The class will be limited to 10 participants, and registration is required. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. This free class will be held in an open-air shelter.

Supplies needed: a picture for inlay that can be cut into a 3-inch circle.

Bring lunch or a snack as well as any drinks – no alcohol.

ALL other supplies are provided by the park.
