Bison Hike

9/12/2020 | Prairie State Park | Mindenmines, MO

Fall is nearly upon us, and the prairie is reaching its full height. Some grasses and wildflowers are reaching more than 8 feet tall. It would be possible to overlook a bison in such vegetation. The asters and goldenrods are apparent. Come out to Prairie State Park on Sept. 12 for a guided bison hike.

Be prepared for a 2-mile hike over uneven terrain. Bringing water, snacks, a hat and sunscreen, and wearing sturdy shoes is recommended. Binoculars will be useful for looking at bison as well as other wildlife that we may see. Be sure to dress for the weather, but shorts are not recommended. Don't forget your cameras!

Registration is required and limited to 25 people. Please call 417-843-6711 to register.
