Halloween Hootenanny

Washington State Park will host several activities on Saturday, Oct. 24 for its Halloween Hootenanny. All activities will take place in the campground and are free and open to the public. This event is sponsored by the Friends of Washington State Park.

Activities Schedule

Campsite Decorating Contest – 7 p.m.
Campers are invited to participate in a campsite decoration contest. Prizes will be awarded to winning campsites. 

Scavenger Hunt  10 a.m. at Campground Host Site (Site #1)
Participants can pick up scavenger hunt sheets between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Campground Host Site (Site #1). Completed forms are due by 4 p.m.

Misconceptions and Strange Missouri Critters – 4 p.m. at Campground Amphitheater
The Missouri Department of Conservation’s Holly Balassi will present this exciting and unique program about all of Missouri’s strange and unusual critters. Are these creatures real, fake or somewhere in between? 

Chili Supper and Raffle Fundraiser – 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Campground Host Site (Site #1)
A chili supper fundraiser will be held. Chili, hot dogs, soda and popcorn will be available for sale. There will also be a raffle fundraiser with tickets for purchase. All proceeds go to the Friends of Washington State Park.

Trick-or-Treating – 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Campground Host Site (Site #1)
Kids are invited to trick or treat in the campground! Participating campsites and vehicles will be posted. Campsites, vehicles, individuals and businesses wishing to pass out candy need to register prior to the event time with a Friends of Washington State Park group member at the Campground Host Site (Site #1).
