Commemorate the Battle of Island Mound, the first Civil War battle where African American soldiers engaged in combat. Planned events include musical performances by Hank Roberts, Civil War era demonstrators, a blacksmith, a cooking demonstration, crafts, storytelling, a medicine show and a living history loop.
