Last year, Missouri was awarded "The Best Trails State" title by National Trails. And a poll on mo.gov last year found Trail of Tears State Park had the best trails in the state. And, park staff feels that Sheppard Point Trail is the park’s best trail. So, celebrate National Trails Day by logging 3 of your 100 Missouri Miles on Sheppard Point Trail, and find out why rugged Mississippi River hills and great views of the river make this trail the best of the best of the best.
The hike will leave from Sheppard Point Trail trailhead. Prepare for a moderate 3 miles that will take about two hours to finish. Remember to wear sturdy shoes or boots and bring water!
Hike time: 10 a.m. - Noon
