Civil War Day

6/15/2013 | Missouri State Museum | Jefferson City, MO

This event is part of an ongoing effort to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Missouri’s role in the Civil War.  Visitors will be able to discover Missouri’s Civil War history through period games, dress and artillery drills. They also can explore the exhibit, “Civil War Missouri: A House Dividing,” inside the museum. Members of the Missouri Irish Brigade of Civil War Re-enactors will interact with visitors on the south lawn of the Capitol grounds. Museum staff will present the Civil War artillery program, "Ready, Aim, Fire." Also re-opening for this event, “Hands-on History,” the interactive exhibit, will allow visitors an opportunity to design their own flag, try on period clothing and test their knowledge of civilian and military clothing.  Click here to read the news release.
