Garden Tour

6/1/2013 to 6/2/2013 | Deutschheim State Historic Site | Hermann, MO

Visit Deutschheim State Historic Site's heirloom gardens during the annual Hermann Garden Club tour.   Enter through the beautiful old iron garden gate at 110 Market Street and step back in time, greeted by gardeners in period attire. Sample from the historic herb garden and learn about 19th century gardening techniques, heirloom plants and their uses during the early Missouri settlement period. A small 1880s half-timber barn features historic farm and garden tools. Free handouts will be available on heirloom gardening. Traditional pink lemonade and cookies make this a refreshing and informative visit. This event is held in conjunction with the annual Hermann Garden Club's Town and Country Garden Tour, a great time to visit Hermann.

Tours of the 1840s Pommer Gentner House and Strehly House/Winery/Print Shop are conducted at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. for the regular admission price of $4 per adult and $2.50 per child. Group rates are available.

Event times: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
