OPEN HOUSE AND RAGTIME CONCERT PLANNED DEC. 9
FOR SCOTT JOPLIN HOUSE STATE HISTORIC SITE
JEFFERSON CITY, MO. NOV. 28, 2007 -- The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will host an informational meeting and ragtime concert on Sunday, Dec. 9, at Scott Joplin House State Historic Site in St. Louis. The informational meeting and concert will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. in the site’s New Rosebud Café. The public is invited.
During the informational meeting, site staff will present information about the site’s operations, resource management and recreational developments. The public is invited to share comments and suggestions about the historic site.
Visitors will then have the opportunity to hear some of the best ragtime in the country. In celebration of the holidays, Dave Majchrzak and “Perfessor” Bill Edwards will perform. Both are world-renown for their ragtime sounds and raucous style.
The informational meeting is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure that the public has input on state parks and historic sites.
