FALL ROCKS EVENT IS NOV. 3 AT MISSOURI MINES STATE HISTORIC SITE

JEFFERSON CITY, MO., OCT. 15, 2007 -- Bring the family for an evening of education and fall fun activities Saturday, Nov. 3, at Missouri Mines State Historic Site in Park Hills. Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the Doe Run Company, the event is 6 to 9 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

The entire family will enjoy mining and geology games, music and karaoke. Admission to the site's museum will be free. Refreshments will be served. Advance reservations are preferred and should be made by Monday, Oct. 29.

Missouri Mines State Historic Site is the site of the former St. Joe Mineral Corporation's largest mine-mill complex. The site's museum features restored underground mining equipment, a large display of mineral specimens, exhibits on mining history and a short video on lead mining and the milling process. The site is located on the south side of Highway 32 at the Flat River Drive overpass in Park Hills.
