INFORMATIONAL MEETING AT
BATTLE OF LEXINGTON STATE HISTORIC SITE IS OCT. 25

JEFFERSON CITY, MO., OCT. 12, 2007 -- The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will hold an informational meeting on Thursday, Oct. 25, to discuss issues related to Battle of Lexington State Historic Site in Lexington. The meeting is 7 to 8 p.m. in the site's visitor center, and the public is invited.

Representatives from the historic site will be on hand to present information about the historic site and to answer questions. Agenda items include a discussion of activities for the upcoming 150th anniversary of the Civil War in 2011, the development of the Freedom's Frontier Heritage Area and various projects that will be initiated during the next year. Visitors are invited to share comments on the site and its facilities.

The informational meeting is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure that the public has input on services provided in state parks and historic sites.

Battle of Lexington State Historic Site is located on Delaware Street in Lexington.
