INFORMATIONAL MEETING FOR STATE HISTORIC SITES IS OCT. 25
JEFFERSON CITY, MO., OCT. 12, 2007 -- The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will hold an informational meeting Thursday, Oct. 25, to discuss issues related to Mastodon State Historic Site in Imperial, Sandy Creek Covered Bridge State Historic Site in Goldman and Gov. Daniel Dunklin's Grave State Historic Site in Herculaneum. The meeting is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Mastodon State Historic Site's museum auditorium, 1050 Charles J. Becker Drive (formerly Museum Drive), Imperial.
Staff from the historic sites will present information about the sites' operations, resource management and recreational developments. The agenda will include a summary of the activities during 2007 and future plans for the three sites. The proposed reconstruction of the ramp at the Mastodon State Historic Site museum will be discussed. A question-and-answer session will follow. The public is invited to share comments about the sites and their operations.
The informational meeting is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure that the public has input on services offered in state parks and historic sites.
