MISSOURI STATE PARK TRAIL OF THE MONTH PASSPORT PROGRAM
IS EXTENDED THROUGH DECEMBER

JEFFERSON CITY, MO., OCT. 11, 2007 --The Trail of the Month: Passport to Health program will be extended through December, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources announced today. Originally scheduled to end in October, the extension of the program will allow participants the chance to explore the many trails in Missouri state parks and historic sites during the cooler fall temperatures and still earn rewards.

Six trails in six regions of Missouri have been identified, and each month from May through October, one trail in each region was featured. With this extension, participants will have more time to hike these trails; however, no new trails will be added for the months of November and December.

Passports must now be received on or before Feb. 1, 2008, to qualify for incentives and for entry into the drawing for the grand prize -- the eTrex Legend Adventure package from Bass Pro Shops. The grand prize drawing will be held on Feb. 29, 2008.

For more information about the passport program, call the department toll free at 800-334-6946 (voice) or 800-379-2419 (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf) or visit the Web at www.mostateparks.com.
