INFORMATIONAL MEETING IS OCT. 22 AT FELIX VALLÉ HOUSE STATE HISTORIC SITE

JEFFERSON CITY, MO., OCT. 5, 2007 -- The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will hold an informational meeting on Monday, Oct. 22, to discuss issues related to Felix Vallé House State Historic Site in Ste. Genevieve. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Shaw House, and the public is invited.

Staff from the site will highlight the activities at the site's different facilities in the last year and will discuss activities and projects for the upcoming year. Staff will discuss progress on the lead paint removal and repainting project for the Shaw House and the Bauvais-Amoureux House restoration project. Projects for the upcoming year include the restoration of the convex mirror in the parlor of the Vallé House and additional furnishings for the Menard and Vallé clerk's office. Visitors will be given the opportunity to ask questions and comment on the facilities.

The informational meeting is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure that the public has input on services provided in state parks and historic sites.

The Shaw House, part of Felix Vallé House State Historic Site, is located on the corner of 2nd and Merchant streets in Ste. Genevieve's historic district.
