INFORMATIONAL MEETING AND DISCOVERY DAY IS
SEPT. 15 AT HA HA TONKA STATE PARK
JEFFERSON CITY, MO., SEPT. 06, 2007 – The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will host an informational meeting along with Discovery Day on Saturday, Sept. 15, at Ha Ha Tonka State Park near Camdenton. The Discovery Day event begins at 1 p.m. The meeting is at 2 p.m., and the public is invited. Both events will be held at the park’s visitor center.
The day’s activities will begin with discovery activities and music by the old time string band “Miss Crystal and the Codgers.” During intermission, the meeting will be held with presentations from the park superintendent and park naturalist. They will present a general overview of the park, recently completed projects, future plans and stewardship work planned for the upcoming months. After the presentation, visitors are encouraged to ask questions and offer comments and suggestions concerning the park. Music and activities for kids of all ages will continue after the meeting until 5 p.m.
The informational meeting is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure that the public has input on services provided in state parks and historic sites.
Ha Ha Tonka State Park is located five miles southwest of Camdenton off U.S. Highway 54 on Highway D.
