INFORMATIONAL MEETING PLANNED FOR WAKONDA STATE PARK SEPT. 15

JEFFERSON CITY, MO., AUG. 31, 2007 -- The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will hold an informational meeting Saturday, Sept. 15, to discuss issues related to Wakonda State Park near La Grange. The meeting is from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wakonda State Park beach house.

Representatives from the park and other staff from the department's Division of State Parks will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the current status of the park. The public is invited to share comments about the park and its services. Staff from the Missouri Department of Conservation will be present to seek public input into the management of the park lakes and the fisheries populations within them.

The informational meeting is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure that the public has input on services and facilities provided in state parks and historic sites.
