FALL CONCERTS ARE HELD SEPT. 15-16

JEFFERSON CITY, MO., AUG. 31, 2007 -- Spend a nice September evening outdoors listening to the sounds of bluegrass music Sept. 15 at Trail of Tears State Park near Jackson or Sept. 16 at Bollinger Mill State Historic Site in Burfordville. Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, these concerts are free and open to the public.

"Cabin Fever," a bluegrass band, will perform old and new traditional bluegrass music along with some bluegrass gospel. The group hails from Millersville and has played at many community and church social events. Members include George Dickerson on banjo, Donnie Salger on bass, Mark Bollinger on guitar, Rodney Efink on mandolin and Lisa Bollinger singing vocals.

Performances will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday at Trail of Tears State Park in the park's amphitheater, which is behind the visitor center. On Sunday, the performance will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the picnic area at Bollinger Mill State Historic Site. Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.

Trail of Tears State Park is located 10 miles east of Fruitland, off Highway 61, on Highway 177. To get to Bollinger Mill State Historic Site, turn off Highway 34 onto Highway OO, then onto Highway HH.
