BIG OAK TREE STATE PARK WILL HOST LIVING HISTORY DAY ON SEPT. 8

JEFFERSON CITY, MO., AUG. 24, 2007 -- Enjoy a day of old-fashioned family fun at Living History Day on Saturday, Sept. 8, at Big Oak Tree State Park near East Prairie. Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, the event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is open to the public.

Watch demonstrations of old-time skills such as lace making, rustic furniture making, spinning, woodcarving, trapping, flint knapping and floor cloths. Enjoy the sounds of bluegrass music by the "Bluegrass Revival" band. Food will be available. Admission and parking for the event are free.

Big Oak Tree State Park is located 15 miles south of East Prairie on Highway 102.
