PIANO RECITAL IS SEPT. 8 AT BATTLE OF LEXINGTON STATE HISTORIC SITE

JEFFERSON CITY, MO., SEPT. 24, 2007 -- Battle of Lexington State Historic Site will host a piano recital at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8. Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, the event will be held in the site's Anderson House. It is free and open to the public.

Spencer Huston, a pianist and teacher at the University of Missouri - Kansas City's Conservatory of Music, will fill the Anderson House with the sounds of Dixie, including "The Bonnie Blue Flag" and several marches. Some selections from Frederick Chopin and Franz Liszt will be included. Pat McDonald, a soprano vocal soloist, will sing various selections.

Advance reservations are required, as there will only be seating for approximately 35 people. If there are additional inquiries, a second program will be given at 8 p.m.
