INFORMATIONAL MEETING FOR FINGER LAKES STATE PARK IS SEPT. 7

JEFFERSON CITY, MO., AUG. 24, 2007—The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will hold an informational meeting Friday, Sept. 7, to discuss issues related to Finger Lakes State Park near Columbia. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the park's contact station. The public is invited.

Staff from the park will present an overview of the park and provide information about upcoming park projects and park rules and regulations. An update on the status of the Kelley Branch project along with the stabilization project that is under way will be provided. Attendees will have the opportunity to sign up to be trail volunteers and receive information about 2007 trail work days. Visitors will also meet the new park ranger, Tim Lopez. There will be a question-and-answer session, and visitors are invited to share comments on the park and its facilities.

The informational meeting is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure that the public has input on services provided in state parks and historic sites.

Finger Lakes State Park is located 10 miles north of Columbia off Highway 63 in Boone County.
