INFORMATIONAL MEETING FOR HARRY S TRUMAN STATE PARK IS SEPT. 1

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, AUG. 16, 2007- The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will hold an informational meeting on Saturday, Sept. 1, to discuss issues related to Harry S Truman State Park near Warsaw. The meeting is 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the park's amphitheater in the campground. The public is invited.

To begin the meeting, the park's naturalist will present a program entitled "A Snake's Tail." Following the program, staff from the park will present an overview of the park and its resources with a question-and-answer session to follow. Topics of discussion will include the renovation of park campsites, the electrification of 29 campsites, park operations, law enforcement, campground management and the campground reservation system. Visitors are invited to share comments on the park and its facilities.

The informational meeting is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure that the public has input on services provided in state parks and historic sites.

Harry S Truman State Park is located six miles west of Warsaw on Highway 7, then right on Highway UU for two miles.
