INFORMATIONAL MEETING AT VAN METER STATE PARK IS AUG. 25
JEFFERSON CITY, MO, AUG. 13, 2007 -- The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will hold an informational meeting to discuss issues related to Van Meter State Park near Miami on Saturday, Aug. 25. The meeting is 10 to 11 a.m. at Missouri's American Indian Cultural Center within the park, and the public is invited.
Park staff will be on hand to provide information about the park and answer questions. Topics of discussion will include staff travels to tribal headquarters and current tribal participation on the development of the new exhibits. Visitors are invited to ask questions and share comments about the park and its facilities.
The informational meeting is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure that the public has input on state parks and historic sites.
Van Meter State Park is located 12 miles northwest of Marshall on Highway 122 in Saline County.
