2004 Katy Trail Ride
Day 1 - June 21, 2004 - St. Charles to Marthasville

Featured Rider

Dwane Rintoul and his wife BlancheName: Dwane Rintoul
Age: 60
Hometown: Haysville, Kansas

How long have you been riding?
I’ve been riding for about 12 or so years. I’ve had two heart attacks and triple bypass surgery and my doctor told me that riding would help. I needed to get out and exercise.

How did today’s part of the ride go for you?
It was a really good day. We got a little wet but it was better than the heat we expected.

What did you like most about riding this part of Katy Trail State Park?
Well, I really liked the trees. In the part of Kansas we’re from, we don’t have too many trees, just wind.

What do you think is unique about the Katy Trail Ride?
It’s interesting to ride where Lewis and Clark traveled. There’s a lot of history along this ride and we’re learning a lot.

This is Dwane's first Katy Ride. His wife Blanche accompanies him on the ride.
