Crews worked to remove several feet of sand and gravel from the main area of the park. Removing the sediment prevents it from being washed into the East Fork and creating water quality problems.

Several of the large boulders will be left in place and used to interpret what happened on Dec. 14, 2005. Imagine the strength of the water that moved a boulder such as this from Proffit Mountain almost two miles away.
