On Fourth of July weekend, the park will host a kids boat race. Park staff build rubber band powered wooden boats out of recycled wood all winter long to be ready for this exciting event. Kids who participate will be given a boat to paint and decorate on Saturday night. The next morning, they will race all the boats at the campground swimming beach. This is a great family activity that gets kids excited about being outside. It also gives them a chance to have fun and build a memory, which they will cherish for the rest of their lives.
