75th Anniversary Celebration

Come celebrate the 75th anniversary of Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park!  The park was originally dedicated on Oct. 10, 1938. Click here to read the news release.

Highlights of the day’s activities include:

Noon - 4 p.m.

  • Festival (including historical presentations, nature displays, demonstrations, games, storytelling and tram tours of the park)
    All activities will emphasize the colorful cultural and natural history of the park, including flora and fauna, early settlement, the development of the park by the young men of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and the legacy of the Babler family on the park and the state park system.
  • Food and drink trucks will be available throughout the afternoon.

1 p.m.

  • Rededication ceremony

4:30 p.m.

  • Concert with James & Truesdale and the Tools of the Trade (Be sure and bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on.)

7 p.m.

  • Night Sky Over Babler program presented by the St. Louis Astronomical Society (The group will have telescopes available for a close up view of the night sky.)

All events will be held in the monument field just like the original opening celebration so many years ago. All events are free and open to the public.
