As part of the Let's G.O.! (Get Outdoors) initiative, families are encouraged to come to the park for an afternoon of outdoor activities led by local outdoor groups. Meet at the Bee Creek Shelter, which is located 1/2 mile south of the main park entrance off of Highway 45. Admission for the event is free! Outdoor activities will include nature hikes, bike rides, kite flying, bird watching, children's archery, and s’mores making. The first 100 kids age 12 or under will also receive a free gift bag! Sponsors of the event activities include: Missouri State Parks, BikeWalk KC, Girl Scouts of Northeast Kansas and Northwest Missouri, Kids and the Outdoors, Platte County Parks, City of Weston Park Board and Wings Over Weston.
