Kansas City Region.1. McAdoo Equestrian Trail -- 7 miles
Knob Noster State Park, Johnson County 660-563-2463
Hwy. 50 at Knob Noster south on Hwy. 23 to Hwy. DD. The trailhead is .75 mile west of the intersection, on south side of Hwy. DD.

2. Watkins Mill Horse Trail -- 3 miles
Watkins Woolen Mill State Park and State Historic Site, Clay County, 816-580-3387
From Kearney or Excelsior Springs, take Hwy. 92, turn north on State Route RA, proceed approximately one mile, turn right at Greenville General Store onto Endsley Road 1.7 miles, turn left at horse trail/special-use camping area sign.

3. Bonanza Conservation Area Trails -- 3.5 miles

From Chillicothe, take Hwy. 36 west for 14 miles, south on Route A for 6.5 miles, west on Route F for nine miles to the area, then left on the first gravel road to the horse trail parking lot. Trail is closed during November firearms deer season and spring turkey season.

4. James A. Reed Memorial Wildlife Area Trails -- 15 miles

From Lee's Summit, take Hwy. 50 east to Ranson Road, south for 1.5 miles to the area entrance on the left.

5. Riverbreaks Conservation Area Trails -- 8 miles
Riverbreaks Conservation Area, Holt County 816-271-3100
From St. Joseph, take I-29 north to Hwy. 59 North (exit #67) for 3.5 miles, south on Route O for three miles, right on gravel road to parking lot and trailhead.

6. Honey Creek Conservation Area Trails -- 14 miles
Honey Creek Conservation Area, Andrew County 816-271-3100
North of St. Joseph, take the Fillmore exit (65) off Interstate 29.

7. Longview Horse Trail -- 6 miles
Longview Lake, Jackson County 816-795-8200
I-470 to Raytown Road, south to High Grove, east to Sampson, south .5 mile to trail access.

8. Smithville Lake Trails -- 16 miles
Smithville Lake, Clay County 816-532-0174
Hwy. 92 to E Hwy. to Quinn Road, north on Quinn to 172nd, 174th or 176th.
