Missouri Equestrian Trail Guide
Are you planning a vacation with your trusty steed or maybe just looking for a new place to ride? This guide can help you make your plans. It contains information about all trails on state and federal land, as well as some other trails, that are open to equestrian use. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources compiled this information with the assistance of the University of Missouri, Missouri Department of Conservation, U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
To assist you in your trip planning, the trails are identified by geographic region. The trail name, mileage, contact phone number and brief directions to the trailhead are provided in the text. An accompanying chart (available only in the hard copy brochure) identifies trail and trailhead amenities. For specific information about a particular trail and any rules, regulations, fees or permits that may be required, please contact the appropriate trail manager.
Most equestrian trails in the state are shared with other trail users such as hikers and bicyclists. All trail users should be courteous and communicate their intended movement with other trail users. Trail users should also be considerate of the environment and not use trails if they are wet or muddy. Carry out what you carry in and leave the trail as clean as possible.
If you know of other trails that should be added to this guide, please send the information to the attention of the Trail Coordinator, at the address below.
