Nature Center/Visitor Center
The nature center and visitor center are housed in a unique historic building that was constructed as a stable in 1934 by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Visitors can enjoy a variety of “hands-on” exhibits that feature park wildlife, plants, geology and natural processes. Live snakes, a 150-gallon native fishes aquarium, and insect collections are just a few of the favorite exhibits. A detailed 3-D model of the park provides directions and orientation to trails and other park facilities.
